ginger thanks

this is a quick thank you I did for someone's order.
Ginger blossom paper and a retired thank you stamp. I think the solid colour is cameo coral. ooh, it's such a nice colour with chocolate chip.
This card is 4x4. I'll play with the layout with other papers.

Thanks for looking.,

what elephant?

I made a trip to Michael's today and boy, was I disappointed! I've read a few treats the girls from the states have bought recently and the Michael's I went to here in Canada, had none of it! boo hoo.
But I am glad I tried this Cuttlekids die. It was on sale, so if it didn't work, oh well. It took a bit of fooling around with thickness of plates and adding pieces of cardstock between, but I did get it right. I'm glad, as my DH is in Florida, and I sent a wish list with the Cuttlekids Lamb die.
For fun, I started with the purple polkadotted one, Then I couldn't stop. I had meant to try a pink one. Maybe tomorrow. Can't wait to put these on some birthday cards. Now I just need a clever saying....

recipe book

So here's a sneak peek at the recipe book I'm making for my mom and her siblings. This paper is from Papertrey Ink. I've just done some in SU Western Sky and am cutting out paper from Summer Picnic for a few more. There are 7 of them all together. Big family. Well, at least there aren't 10 like my dad's! lol

I have to redo this book b/c I dropped it in the snow and the ink ran. boo hoo. But at least the template is done and I can whip them off like that after everything is cut. No prob.
The title on the cover is done with Maddie Ann alpha from Quickutz. And a few of the little dies were used inside the layouts also.

Got a great patch on my upper back for the sore muscles, so I was able to work. Thank goodness. It was a rough day before I decided to try it. It's lovely, nice menthol scent. Clears the sinuses. :}

one bad apple

I got my new Summer Picnic DP and Tart and Tangy stamp set from Stampin' Up! yesterday and had only a few minutes to play before going to bed. Not really what I had in mind, but at that hour, I didn't resist. And, I don't have anything else to show you at present.

I'm working on some recipe books for my mom. They are 4x6. I did a stupid thing... cut the paper 4.25x5.5, like a card front. for 3 sets! and the covers are already done..4x6. So now I'm trying to figure out .. I think I'll make new covers, rather than reprint and layout the inside pages. Only thing, The covers are precut chipboard. And, I did the title in Quickutz letters. Time consuming to cut and glue those itty bitty things. Oh well, you don't need to hear anymore of my dilemma.

I really should get up there and do some work on it. My DH put a printer up there so now I don't have to lose my flow to come downstairs to print. Once I leave that room, it takes a bit to get me back up.

Wow, I'm sounding a bit winge-y tonight aren't I?! I have tense muscles in my shoulders and neck. Kinda useless right now. Sorry, there I go again. LOL
I'm outta here.

Lady in Red

Another bella for ya. In red. Flowahbella. Retired Cerise DP from Stampin' Up! I paper pieced her dress. If I had to do it over, I would add a bigger piece of ribbon to the strip in the middle.

Hope you had a great Easter. I've been singing in church for 4 days and rehearsals before that. So I'm glad the christ has risen and can stay home tomorrow with my family. yeah. no plans or appointments. Hope to make a little trip to the dollar store, take in a walk and of course, a little trip to my stamp room.

stamped onesie shirts

Many people have been stamping on baby onsies, so when my cousin welcomed his 3rd girl to the family, I thought I'd give it a try. The stamps are images are from Papertrey ink, Green thumb and Butterfly kisses sets. The sentiments adorable and happiness are from Stampin' Up!

The ink used is Palette ink. I don't have a huge colour supply, so was a little limited to what I could use. All in all, I'm happy with how they turned out for the 1st time.

Sorry for the short post, gotta deal with screaming children. I refuse to buy 2 of everything! lol

Thanks for looking and have a great `Easter.

lame post

I'm so lame in posting! I have been making stuff, but just haven't coordinated getting the stuff, camera and computer all int he same room at the same time. not even 2 out of 3.
Anyhow, I did find this easter basket in my iPhoto that I haven't shared.
I learned to do it at my upline's workshop.
6x6 double sided paper (if you wish). Score at 2 and 4 inches on both sides. Then cut up to the first score line on one side at 2 and 4 and then the opposite of the paper at 2 and 4. You get a square in the middle that isn't cut and 2 sides that aren't cut. clear as mud? I used the corner rounder to make the corners, then brought the sides together. made a coordinating handle and attached with brads. The Bunny tag is from a retired set, Tags so Much. DP is Bali Breeze.

When I downloading the camera, hoping there was some sort of card picture in there, I found this of my daughter Neve. I just had to be the gushing, proud mother and show ya! She's wearing Rafael's Thomas halloween costume. I think she'll be a dress up kinda girl. She went around in butterfly wings for an hour and got glitter all over the place. (if you know me, you know, glittah is my least favorite thing!)
Growing kids is a good thing!

I'm almost finished my baby presents for my cousin, so I'll show you pics of that. Gosh, I hope the kid isn't a fast grower, or nothing will fit.

preggers congrats

It's Saturday already! And the last time I posted was Tuesday?? I've been creating, so guess I forgot to share.

There are so many pregnant women at the drop in centre I bring my kids to everyday, I'm afraid to drink the water! lol So I figured I should build a stash of congrats and baby cards.

This one used the new spring moss colours from Papertrey Ink and the designer paper. Instead of their coordinating aqua mist colour, I used SU, Soft Sky. It's close enough.

The stamps are from Michael's buck 50 bin a few years ago. She looks glowing doesn't she? The congrats on the outside of the card uses a die from the Quickutz Revolution. It took a long time to cut that baby out, as I couldn't get it to cut properly. No amount of adding layers between the cutting boards (I used my cuttlebug) made a clean cut. Until... I turned the word vertical. It was like buttah I tell ya, buttah! I also paper pieced the lady's dress.

Thanks for looking and look forward to some more projects...

pink balloon

It looks like 2 entries in one day, but one was this morning and this one is late a night so I don't have to fit it in tomorrow.
This card uses the same layout as the card posted a few down. DP is Berry Bliss, Stamp from Sale-a-bration, Birthday Whimsy and thoughts.
I'm going to make one of these in boy colours. And maybe one with a gift for older boys. Endless possibilities.

Short and sweet tonight.

Easter trio

These stamps are from Michael's buck 50 bin. I love my new square punch (why did I wait so long?) So I had to use it. On the 2nd card, I used the circle punch. Which do you like better?
The luscious flower is new at my LSS, Scrapbook By Design. (they do online orders).I love it when they come back from CHA. There are so many new products. The huge polka dot brad is also from the LSS.

Birthday Whimsy

Oh boy, am I sore! We had a dump of 25 cm of snow in the last day. I shoveled twice yesterday and was up at 7am (6am real time before the time change) today shoveling again. The snow drifts were amazing. had to push my way out the back door. Then off to church to sing 2 services, after that, off to teach the card class. By the time I got home, my son was a little stir crazy, so I gobbled dinner and took him outside, to the playground to let off some energy. A playground full of snow is fun! Needless to say, I'm pooped!

In the card class today, it was fun to see everyone get involved, relax and show their creativity in changing little elements on the cards to make them their own.

Here is one of the cards from the class that I cased from Andrea Walford. SHe has great ideas and had an Easter tutorial blitz this past week. Check her out at http://andreawalford.com/ Feb. 28 entry.

I used kraft paper as the base, purely pomegranate, turquoise and pumpkin pie. Stamps are from the Sale a bration. DP is Bali Breeze.

Ginger blossom and 5 petal flower

I cased this card from
http://www.inmystamproom.com/ jan 6-12 entry.

Of course, I changed it up a bit as my supply of dp is dwindling. Not much stamping at all, just the sentiment, which can be anything you want. Versatile. The flowers were fun to make. the original card used a star punch for the middle layer, but I don't have one. I used the same flower punch instead. The little flower is from the retired 3 blossom punch.

SCS Challenge

This is my 1st SCS layout challenge. It was a lot easier than I thought, maybe because I changed it a little to fit my idea. I hope it's ok to do that.
The stamps set is Never Ending Joy, again. DP is Bali Breeze.

never ending Joy Easter

This card was cased from the SU sheets for the Wild Wasabi cardstock offer. It's the one with the flower and spring sentiment on it.
I decided to go for the textured cardstock promo. It is so inexpensive. So what if it's scored in a strange place. They show you ways to use it.

Once again, I coloured on the stamps with the markers, punched with my scallop oval and raised it on dimensionals. All products are SU as I'm demoing this card at an outside workshop this weekend. Hope the ladies like it.

Never Ending Joy

This is a new set I got from Stampin' Up!. I love this set. The sentiments with it are for Easter, but I thought the cute mini cards, also from SU, were perfect for thank you notes. This set comes in 3 stamps. I used markers on the stamps to get the variation in colours. Too cute. Even my son coloured and stamped with them for about 30 minutes.
Not sure if you can see it well, but I scored the outside of the cards for a bit of relief.

That's it, been working on cards for a workshop this weekend.

He Has Risen

I received the new Papertrey Ink designer 6x6 papers and coordinating spring moss colour scheme cardstock, ribbons and ink. Love that colour.
I immediately wanted to punch little squares with the DP. Then I had the thought to make the stain glass window. The stamps are from Michael's buck 50 bin.
I like how this card turned out. if I had the smaller tag punch (SU) I would probably outline the window a little better. But I only had 20 minutes to get this idea out of my head and on to paper before rescuing my husband from crazy children. Why is witching hour the one when you're trying to cook supper? lol
